Paint Repairs

This bowl was left out for the winter, full of water. This is an extreme example, but we were able to easily fix it and get the fountain back in operation!

You will need the following

  1. Mid-grade sandpaper
  2. Spray paint
  3. Clear Sealer Spray (optional)

Many paint and craft stores sell a variety of colors that may provide a close match to your unit. Any brand will suffice, and if painting the entire inside of the bowl is pictured below, the exactness of the color match is not critical. The object is to get it back in action!

Wipe bowl clean of debris. Find suitable match in color.
Paint Repair Fig6
Apply a light coat the interior of the bowl.
Paint Repair Fig7
Apply two more coatings, allowing sufficient time to dry between coats.
Paint Repair Fig8
A final coat of paint sealer or waterproofing should be applied to protect the repaired product.

While each scenario may vary, these general steps can be followed to achieve a “like new” finish for most paint repairs.
We recommend allowing the pieces ample time to dry before resuming use.
