Maintaining a ‘Cord Seal’

While they are used less commonly these days, cord seals are still included with some fountain models as it takes away the need for a cord pipe and installs flush with the bowl, which is ideal for tight spaces.
When properly installed, the cord seal will prevent water loss from the bowl while allowing the cord to pass through it. Over time, basic maintenance will require you to remove and reinstall the cord seal.
Here’s how:
To remove the cord seal, follow these steps:

Cord Seal Fig2
Loosen all screws.
Cord Seal Fig3
Lift the cord seal.
Cord Seal Fig4
Remove plate for access.

To reinstall a cord seal:

Cord Seal Fig5-8
Set the cord seal in place. Tighten all 4 screws until snug. Silicone can be added as additional measure of security.
