Pump Care – Pumps should always be plugged into a grounded GFCI receptacle.
Pumps should always be fully submersed in water. Low water levels may cause burnout, voiding your warranty.
We recommended that you run the pump in a bucket of water first, to “prime the pump” and insure proper operation. The power cord should extend or hang lower than the wall plug socket; this is to prevent water drops from making contact with the plug or electrical supply outlet. These pumps should be cleaned regularly to insure long life. Hard water buildup on impeller will cause reduced efficiency. The diagram below shows proper disassembly procedures.
Winter Care – We Strongly Suggest Storage in areas with Harsh Winter Conditions!
These units are designed for outdoor use during the spring, summer, and fall months. The unit should be stored properly in areas with harsh winter conditions, with all water removed, preferably in shelter. The pump must be drained of all water.

I recently purchased the 5000 GPH waterfall pump but cannot find a filter or weir to go with it. Your 16 inch filter weir is rated to a max 2500 waterfall pump. However you do not appear to have any filter for the 5000 waterfall pump.

What is the pond application you have? The 5000 can be used with the weir if you are doing a high waterfall (over 8 feet). Filtration solutions for that size requires a combination of filters and skimmers which is beyond the scope for our current Home Depot line-up. Next season we will be potentially expanding our line to include larger size weirs and filtration. Alternatively there are a number of specialty stores that offer larger filters and weirs. As our connections are industry standard you should have no issues connecting to these devices.
